``epilogue You know the stories. You know how they all end. "And they all lived happily every after." ...Right?
We've all heard, or read, or watched the fairy tales and classic stories. The most well known and retold stories are undoubtedly those compiled by the brothers Grimm. But just how did the brothers collect all of those stories? And what made them so popular?
What is not so well known, is the idea that there are many simultaneously existing universes. The idea that somewhere out there in some plane of existence, at this very moment, those beloved characters we know so well are living out those stories that enthrall us. When the authors and writers we admire so much write our favorite stories, they are tapping into something unseen and unknown. But the brothers Grimm were very aware of these things. They acquired magic for themselves to purposefully see into other worlds and discovered the events that unfold in our most fabled tales. However, after some time, they began to run out of their magic and thus, out of stories to tell. They could not allow that happen. By this time, the New World was being explored and there were many tales of the Fountain of Youth, and other such sources of magic in these new lands. It was possible that they may find success by venturing to the New World, so that is precisely what they did. And the particular region that seemed to be the most promising in locating such magic was a remote region in the south of today's United States: Florida.
So this is why, long ago, without anyone's knowledge and the belief that they had simply disappeared, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm traveled to Florida. After spending some time there, they attempted to work the same magic they had used in order to see into other worlds. They were unsuccessful in this venture. As such, they left believing their magic had completely failed and there was no longer any magic left in our world. But they were wrong...
It happened ever so slowly. The creation of the town of Rock Castle, Florida, happened so slowly and organically no one noticed the oddness of it. And yet now, here it is. The fairy tale characters, and the characters of the classic stories we know and love have been ripped from their own realities and brought into ours, into the bustling town of Rock Castle in the American south. Only, they have had very different lives from the ones you have heard. Well, at least they think they have. They all have memories of having grown up and lived in this city. They consider themselves to be no different from you or I. They have wholly ordinary lives. Well, if you consider living in a city so corrupt it makes Gotham look like a resort destination to be ordinary. Rock Castle is a college town and a growing metropolis, but there is a growing gap between the wealthy running businesses downtown (most of them involved in organized crime), and the poor living in Fable Village Mobile Home park on the outskirts. And lately, they have been having the strangest visions. Visions of their fairy tale lives. Visions so vivid, some are a little frightened, but no one wants to talk about it. What could it possibly mean?
What will you do to survive in this corrupt city?
